A graceful Art Nouveau amethyst and pearl necklace that recalls a stylized dragonfly. Sensually curving 14k yellow gold lines extend horizontally, like wings. Delicate pearls stud the scrolling gold. Three amethysts are set vertically, like the segmented body of a dragonfly. Each amethyst, one triangular, one square, and one teardrop-shaped are connected with pearl-studded links that give the piece a pleasant articulation. The antique pendant hangs on a modern 14k gold cable chain. Circa 1910.
